![]() ![]() He was immediately warm, friendly and chatty about everything Aruba! We met our hike guide Marcella at the info center, where she showed us pictures of some of the animals and plants we would see on the hike.Marcella started the hike by saying "ask me anything" and we proceeded to talk the entire 4-hour hike! She was easy to talk to, shared funny stories, educated us about Aruba and it's bountiful nature and we bonded over our love for Sex & the City and yoga (she's an instructor). At a breathtaking moment during the hike when the waves were crashing up against the rocks and the wind was blowing she asked us to ground ourselves, take a deep breath, close our eyes and to remember this moment when we are stressed back at home. ![]() We went on the half day private Arikok National Park tour and can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to explore the other side of the island! Jorge, the owner of the tour company, met us at our hotel to drive us to the Nature info center. We would definitely do a hike with them again next time we're in Aruba!ĭon't Miss This Unforgettable Hike and Lunch! The lunch at Ricardo's after was a perfect ending at a lovely spot right on Eagle Beach with great food. The hike was a perfect level of difficulty for us as two relatively fit people - just be sure to wear good shoes (hiking shoes/sandals or trail sneakers), a snug-fitting hat because of the wind and lots of sunscreen. Even though the pool was closed because the water was too rough, that didn't detract at all from the experience and if anything gave us more time to enjoy the hike and especially the "Little Aruba" boca that Marcella showed us and was really a magical spot. We were so glad we chose to do a hike to see the natural pool and not the UTVs or Jeeps - we were able to really see and appreciate the landscape and not just storm through it. ![]() Marcella was a wonderful guide on our hike - she had great energy and was very knowledgeable about the natural habitat on the island. Jorge picked us up at our hotel and was super friendly and shared interesting tidbits about Aruba as we drove to the park and again on the drive to Ricardo's for lunch. We really enjoyed our half-day hike and lunch with Aruba Nature Explorers. Perfect hike in beautiful Arikok National Park! Please take this trip you will realize what you’ve been missing when it comes to nature in Aruba. Overall I would recommend this trip to people with kids I.e family and couples as well. A special thanks to Marc who drove us around and showed us the city and downtown area. Finally once we were done with the hike we sat down at Ricardo’s on the eagle beach and the food was fantastic. The natural pool is just breath-taking and you have to take the time to snorkel and swim and probably dive in too. We would examine the trees and the birds. The best part was the fact that it was tailored completely to us and we were setting the pace with no rush. It was such a nice sight to see him listening to Jorge and asking questions about the nature. My son like every other kid his age loves video games. Jorge was just a fantastic guide taking his time to explain everything about the park including the vegetation and the local birds and animals. It was a hike along the Arikok national park with snorkeling at the natural pool and lunch at Ricardo’s by the eagle beach. It was probably the best trip we took on our entire stay in Aruba. The entire experience was exactly what we were looking to do on our trip and we couldn’t stop talking about it. Highly recommend! We saw Jorge at the start of our hike and then afterwards, he took us to lunch at Ricardo’s. After that we continued on to two more coves and again, the views! I did some research ahead of time but seeing it in-person was unreal. ![]() The views were amazing! It was rewarding getting to the natural pool and swimming/snorkeling for a little bit. My cousin and I hike on a regular basis so the first part felt like we were exploring a new trail of course. They are clearly passionate about nature and the island. It was a great experience learning more about Aruba from Jorge and Rambo. I don’t even know where to begin…our tour guide Rambo was great! As a park ranger, he was very knowledgeable about every aspect of the National Park, the plants, the birds/nests we saw along the way, the history of trees, rock formations, everything! We chose to do the half day tour to Conchi Natural Pool at the beginning of our trip. ![]()
